These three settings are heavily diced and impromptly jumbled together for the novel's entire duration. I could envision this beautiful beach town as if I was there… The end is pure perfection. In fact it was reported in The Times that they had whittled the shortlist down to those two novels and it was only the chair John Sutherland 's casting vote that decided the winner. I will remember that scene for the rest of my life, probably, and that is NOT something I want to remember!

Read Count: Summer at Firefly Beach by Jenny Hale Book Resume: A totally emotional, gripping page-turner from the bestselling author of The Summer House about the importance of family, re-discovering who you are, and the magic of finding true love under the summer sun. Thank you to Netgalley and Bookoutre for this review copy. This book was a very sweet story about first loves, first betrayals, and screwed up families. She has an uncanny knack of knowing what others are thinking, or what she can say to hint to others what they should be doing.

What I love most about this book is the time that Ms. The novel is written as a reflective journal; the setting always in flux, wholly dependent upon the topic or theme Max feels inclined to write about. Among all this strife and love there seems to be one event that everything can be traced back to and just at the end we learn some hidden facts to those, ones that when you really think about it aren't that surprising and put the events in a new light. And I wasn't disappointed. Now they are returning to celebrate Nan's 90th Birthday.

What the reader finds is a lovely story I enjoyed everything about this book! Casey and Faith are sisters who have been estranged for many years - ah, sisters. That's right, Sarah was a complete piece of work. Still, what I got from this story was not what I wanted.

Cottage by the Sea

Each character has a bit of a backstory and a specific relationship with Faith. Max, done with his childhood memories, offers a final memory of a near-death episode while he was inebriated. As a result Faith needs to let the past go, and to be more comfortable within herself and her family dynamic, and she finally gets to know her niece Isabella, who is now 5.

Please, don't do it! What she hadn't counted on was meeting Jake Buchanan, who seems to be everywhere, and who she is clearly attracted to. He was sweating a little, and his eyes darted with barely suppressed trepidation.

His daughter scolds him at the hospital, assumingly being told he nearly killed himself, and tells him to come home with her. It is revealed at this point that Miss Vavasour is Rose herself and she was in love with Mrs.

He went down on one knee. I knew I had to find a new direction. Grace soon emerges, comforting Rose. Do you know what Banville said to me? The book is set in a fictionalized Rosslarethe seaside village where we went every summer as children.

This day of "illicit invitation" climaxes when Max is pulled to the ground, and snuggled closely with Connie and Rose in a game of hide-and-seek.
